COACH JUSTIN FURTADO
Head Coach & Director
Coach Furtado is the founder and director of BTG Basketball, a program built on the philosophy of transforming young athletes into leaders on and off the court. Short for "Beyond the Game," BTG Basketball is dedicated to fostering skills, character, and resilience that help players excel not just in basketball but in life.
As a transformative coach, Coach Furtado leads with passion and experience. Currently serving as the JV Basketball Coach at Pacifica Christian Santa Monica, he has over six years of coaching expertise, mentoring more than 500 athletes. His leadership contributed to Venice High School’s journey to the LA City Section Division 1 Finals during his first year on staff.
Coach Furtado is also the host of the Beyond the Scoreboard Podcast, where he’s interviewed over 150 industry leaders, including:

COACH CULLEN DONOVAN
Senior Skills Coach
Cullen has coached at numerous basketball camps in the USA, National League in Ireland, Basketball Ireland, and Top Flight Basketball Academy in Thailand.
He has also worked with Capitol Basketball representative teams in New Zealand.
He was a player-coach in Ireland’s National League for Sligo Allstars Basketball Club, LYIT Donegal, and the Galway Titans.
He has led and assisted youth boys and girls team development in each of the clubs (u9-u19). He also coached for Basketball Ireland U-14 Northwest Academy and U-17 Boys Northwest BIPPS regional team.
ADDIE LACEWELL
Strength Coach + Operations Manager
Addie is a distinguished former Division 1 athlete and 2x NCAA All-American who excelled on the University of Oregon’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Team. She earned the prestigious title of 2021 NCAA Specialist of the Year and was a two-time recipient of the "Glue" Award, recognizing her exceptional leadership and team spirit. Addie also served on the Team Leadership Committee, demonstrating her commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Addie has accumulated over 6 years of teaching experience, showcasing her dedication to education and mentoring. She is excited to be a part of the BTG Team!
AMIR RANSOM
Skills Coach
Coach Amir has been running his player development business Flourish Skills Training, since 2020. In addition to running his own business, he has helped players earn 3 Division 1 scholarships as well as several D2 scholarships.
Coach Amir is a dedicated professional who values coaching the person first and focusing on the athlete second. G League player Damien Jefferson, and overseas professional Scootie Guyton's success stories are true reflections of Coach Amir’s ability to get the most out of every athlete on and off the court regardless of level.
Cooper Pupp

At the end of every session, we honor one standout athlete as the “Dog of the Day” – our version of Player of the Day – in recognition of their excellence both on and off the court. This tradition, inspired by Cooper Pupp, celebrates athletes who exemplify the core values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
